We designed a torch which is aTORCH FOR PEACE by definition:
By shape, functional and self-explanatory…
By material, precious ceramics, precious like peace itself…
By color, white like the color of a peace dove…
By surface, a grip with a texture of a grid, for structure and stability…
As a serial produced object, for as many people as possible!
It will be lit with a candle to facilitate a calm flame…
But most of all it becomes a peace torch by a ritual:Passing the torch light from person to person – sharing a light for peace.

TORCH:LIGHT is a project within the framework of Future Design Embassies, a research project (*2022) at the Folkwang University of the Arts, Essen, in cooperation with the Vignelli Center for Design Studies RIT, Rochester, USA, which explores the areas of design, dialogue, knowledge transfer and sustainability with the aim of promoting innovation and gaining new perspectives through open exchange. TORCH:LIGHT is the practical implementation of our research results and a message we want to spread: 'Passing the Torch' as an expression of exchange, knowledge transfer and peace.
