luminaire
lighting
*2023
Lighting shapes how we perceive, use and move through spaces. In public space, however, it is usually bound to fixed locations and resists spontaneous adaptation.
The luminaire BAT detaches itself from a fixed installation site. A system of interchangeable components – a standardised housing, light modules and variable mounting options – enables use on poles, street signs, trees or façades. Solar- or battery powered, the luminaire can be deployed in different temporal and spatial situations.
Light becomes a means of independent co-creation of public space.
components:
housing
light module (solar / battery-powered)
mounting system (strap / clamp / facade bracket)
Exhibited at "1year design embassy", SANAA, 2023
