Description

The workshop “Re: Form” makes design processes tangible.
The exploration and shaping of form unfolds through active making. Open-ended experimentation serves as a method of form development. We bend, invert, observe, trim, add, apply, discard and transfer.
Through the rapid exploration of multiple variations, a series of lighting objects emerges. Simple craft materials, like paper, clips, scissors, pencils, are used to develop prototypes. These models act as direct simulations of the final product and are subsequently digitised and precisely fabricated from plastic sheets using a laser cutter. The result is a collection of distinct lighting objects – tangible, concrete, and at the same time the outcome of an open creative process.
The workshop invites participants to experience design as an experimental, investigative practice, opening new perspectives on their own perception and creativity. It is not only about the final product, but also about playfully exploring possibilities, questioning familiar forms, and consciously engaging with material, technique, and spatial impact.
